Project Team Resource Guide (v.1)
Welcome, socially engaged design teams! This webpage has been created to provide an easier way for you to learn about and access the C-SED resources that are available to you and your team.
Here you will find information about becoming a SED team, accessing the C-SED prototyping lab, booking consultations with the right facilitator for your needs, and scheduling team workshops. You will also find links to using the C-SED social media and newsletter platforms for outreach purposes, reserving C-SED and other spaces for your group, and information about current funding opportunities.
Please note, this webpage will be continually updated throughout the year to provide additional resources around seasonally relevant topics, such as recruitment and leadership transitions.

Leadership Transition Resources
The following resources have been compiled to make the process of leadership transitions easier for you and your team. Use these resources as a starting point to prepare for a smooth transition for your organization as a whole. These documents and resources are created and maintained by the College of Engineering’s Office of Student Life. Socially Engaged Design (SED) Teams
C-SED will directly mentor and support teams with a mission or outcome that aligns with our values. If your team could benefit from the SED process model, ongoing support and resources, and funding opportunities, you might be eligible to become a SED team. Keep in mind that this support is not indefinite and is designed to be mutually beneficial.

The C-SED Lab
The C-SED Prototyping Lab is a collaborative manufacturing and assembly space that can be made available to your project team. To learn more about how to access this and/or other makerspaces on campus, check out the following links:
Consultations
C-SED offers a variety of free consultations with trained staff, well-versed in Socially Engaged Design, prototyping, stakeholder interviews, ecosystem mapping, and so much more. Even if you don’t know how or why your team is stuck, we would love to meet with you to troubleshoot and connect you to resources.
Workshops
If your team needs more structured guidance on a specific topic, C-SED offers a variety of free workshops with trained staff. C-SED facilitators can work with you to understand the mission and goals of your organization and design a custom workshop or series of workshops for your team to help meet your goals. Some examples of workshops we facilitate for student organizations are:
- Introduction to Socially Engaged Design
- Planning a needs assessment
- Using prototypes as a tool for feedback
- Performing interviews
- Community engagement strategies
Ginsberg Center – Do Good Well Resource Platform
The Ginsberg Center support students and student organizations in creating positive social change through multiple forms of community engagement. Their team has created the Do Good Well (DGW) Resource Platform which compiles and consolidates resources across the university (and beyond) so that community-engaged student orgs can connect to what they need.
