Grace is pursuing a PhD in Design Science from the University of Michigan where she researches the methods of incorporating social impact parameters into the engineering design process, particularly for products and systems intended for economic and social development. She is experienced in cross-cultural user research and technology implementation for low-income communities. She holds a dual MS in Mechanical Engineering and Applied Anthropology and has been and Engineering for Change Fellow since 2017. Additionally, she serves as the Director of Research & Innovation for MAPLE Uganda, which oversees the Mbale Center for Innovation and Design.
