Design is an open-ended problem solving process with no one right path or right answer. This ambiguity can be difficult for early designers to understand and practice. Structured tools and processes can support students in engaging in design in more expert ways and following empirically-based best practices.
At C-SED, we study the impact of design education tools as well as conduct research to inform tool development and translate that research into the development of design tools that can aid both students and practitioners.
