Nolgie Oquendo-Colón

Graduate Facilitator

Nolgie is a PhD candidate in the Engineering Education Research program at the University of Michigan with a background in Industrial Engineering and Project Management, holding both a B.S. and M.S. from the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez. His research interests span neurodivergent students, engineering cognition, teaching and learning methodologies, and cognitive science. Employing an interdisciplinary approach, Nolgie seeks to uncover insights that support neurodiverse learners in engineering. His research is dedicated to enhancing the academic success of engineering college students with attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), by exploring their college experience of engineering and the role of classroom teaching practices plays into their academic success. Nolgie‘s work emphasizes the importance of recognizing the strengths of all students and ensuring that teaching methods are inclusive and equitable for a diverse range of learners.
