Socially Engaged Engineering & Design (SED) Informed Pedagogical Consultation
C-SED provides pedagogical consultation that can match your needs with C-SED content through the curation of scaffolded material and facilitated sessions that integrate seamlessly into course learning objectives. Using C-SED’s extensive library of socially engaged design content (ex: slides, facilitation guides, videos, worksheets), we invite you to craft meaningful learning opportunities for your students.
If you are interested in exploring the integration of SED elements into your classroom, please email our Assistant Director of Experiential Learning, Claudia Cameratti-Baeza, PhD by clicking HERE.
WORKSHOPS
Have our experts do workshops and activities in your class!
We can facilitate workshops on a variety of topics and tailor this content for your classroom.
Topics range from lectures on Socially-Engaged Thinking and Community Engagement, to best practices and skills for eliciting User Requirements and Specifications, Concept Generation and Selection, and performing Interviews and Observations.
SEED Case Study Initiative
The SEED Case Study Initiative develops original case studies for engineering courses that highlight the impact of engineering work on engineers and the broader society – based on real-world histories closely connected to any engineering subject.
Design Jams
A facilitated, iterative, interactive experience, a Design Jam walks students and stakeholders through a design process aimed at generating creative ideas around real-world challenges.
Socially Engaged Design Academy (SEDA)
SEDA Blocks and SEDA Shorts are great resources for your students to begin grasping design concepts!
SEDA blocks include a graded knowledge check and application tasks to test and actualize these concepts with C-SED consultants. We can customize current blocks to better fit your objectives and contextualize your coursework through the lens of socially engaged design!
