
Erika Mosyjowski is an Assistant Research Scientist and Lead Research and Assessment Strategist at the Center for Socially Engaged Design. Her work involves developing and implementing research and assessment initiatives related to C-SED’s work advancing sociotechnical engineering education. Her research interests include cultural beliefs and messaging about “what counts” as engineering work, strategies for supporting integration of social and contextual skills and knowledge into engineering training, and understanding engineers’ educational and career experiences and decision making.
Erika holds a PhD and MA from the Center for the Study of Higher and Postsecondary Education at UM and a BA in sociology and psychology from Case Western Reserve University. Before joining C-SED, Erika worked as a researcher on a variety of engineering and STEM education projects and in Rackham’s Institutional Research Office and served as a lecturer in Engineering Education. She has also previously worked as an Academic Support Coordinator in what is now the C.A.R.E. Center in the College of Engineering.
