Peter Fabe is a second year Design Science PhD student with a background in all things 3D printing.
Peter earned both his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and master’s degree in engineering from the University of Dayton with research and work focusing on design, manufacturing, education, and sustainable additive manufacturing. His current research includes conducting a comparative environmental and economic sustainability assessment of metal powder for 3D printing, determining the viability of turning post-consumer PLA plastic waste into 3D printing material, and implementing 3D printing design education into the mechanical engineering design course series. In his free time, Peter enjoys playing electric guitar and fixing old motorcycles.
Peter’s favorite thing to do is to help connect students to opportunities and projects that grow their abilities and confidence as a maker, designer, and/or engineer. Get in touch with Peter about: 3D printing, product design, prototyping, and vintage machinery!
