Socially Engaged Engineering & Design (SED) Informed Pedagogical Consultation

C-SED provides pedagogical consultation to match the needs of your course using scaffolded sociotechnical content and facilitated sessions that integrate seamlessly into course learning objectives. We use C-SED’s extensive library of socially engaged design content (ex: slides, facilitation guides, videos, worksheets) and invite you to craft meaningful learning opportunities for your students.

If you are interested in exploring the integration of SED elements into your classroom, please email our Assistant Director of Experiential Learning, Claudia Cameratti-Baeza, PhD  by clicking HERE.

DESIGN SKILL SESSIONS

We can facilitate workshops on a variety of socially engaged design skills topics and tailor this content for your classroom.

Topics range from lectures that introduce Socially Engaged Design, to best practices and skills for eliciting User Requirements and Specifications, Concept Generation and Selection, and performing Interviews and Observations.

Online Learning

The Center for Socially Engaged Engineering and Design offers several opportunities to learn and practice the skills of socially engaged design. Learners can enroll in C-SED’s “Introduction to Socially Engaged Design” Coursera course to get learn about the process model itself and begin developing design skills within engineering contexts. Alternatively, learners can explore individual skills and strategies used within the process model through the Socially Engaged Design Academy’s (SEDA) mini-modules.
