Uthman Olagoke

Graduate Facilitator
Uthman is a Ph.D. candidate in Design Science at the University of Michigan, where he also earned his Master’s degree and is pursuing a graduate certificate in Community Action and Research. Under the guidance of Professors Shanna Daly and Sita Syal, Uthman’s research focuses on using human-centered design methods to more effectively engage and prioritize underserved and historically marginalized communities in the transition toward decarbonized energy and transportation systems in the United States. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Government and Sociology from Dartmouth College.
Professionally, Uthman has built his career in the civic and public sectors, supporting the capabilities of local governments and community-based organizations with data-driven, human-centered approaches to problem solving and service delivery.
A proud New Yorker, Uthman enjoys a good science fiction novel and keeping up with political podcasts. This summer, you can find him around town thrift shopping and playing pickup volleyball.
