KELLEY DUGAN, PhD CANDIDATE

Senior Facilitator

As a  previous Senior Graduate Facilitator at C-SED, Kelley helped to create and lead workshops related to socially engaged design. These workshops span everything from stakeholder mapping and interviewing to problem statements and ideation strategies.

Kelley completed her Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from The Ohio State University in 2017. After graduating, she worked in the consumer appliance industry for two years and had a variety of engineering roles spanning the product development process. In the Fall of 2019, Kelley started as a graduate student in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Michigan. Her current research focuses on design process models, assessment of socially engaged engineering skills, and assessments of systems thinking skills.

Kelley is passionate about the early stages of a design process, the creation of equitable community partnerships, and the recognition of broad contextual factors that can impact the success of a designed artifact/process/solution.
